Science in Life, Nature and Engineering for a Better World Examined at Science in the Age of Experience

Dassault Systèmes’ annual Science in the Age of Experience event will gather the global science thought leadership community to examine how science is being applied to life, nature and engineering to drive sustainable innovation in the context of global societal challenges, October 14-15, 2019 at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Following opening remarks from Bernard Charlès, Vice Chairman and CEO, Dassault Systèmes, Lisa Randall, Physics Professor, Harvard University will deliver the event’s keynote, “Seeing the Unseen: Simulation and Theory in Science (and Beyond),” to discuss how various fields of science have tackled human challenges through extremely careful measurements and simulations.

A series of keynote addresses and discussions on each theme with academic, industry and government influencers will explore transformational scientific contributions to better living, a sustainable planet and product innovation.  Speakers include:

  • Jennifer Wilcox, Professor of Chemical Engineering, Worcester Polytechnic Institute
  • Marcel Wubboltz, Chief Technology Officer, Corbion

 

Panels will feature representatives from Biogen, BioSerenity and Cellink to discuss 3D bioprinting, precision medicine, and personalized patient continuous care; Purdue, SRK and Volvo Group Trucks Technology to discuss ideation, production and recycling next generation plastic; and Base 11, ECCO and Mahindra Research to discuss product innovation trends including customization, advanced materials and generative design.

 

Attendees can also experience how Dassault Systèmes’ 3DEXPERIENCE platform is the catalyst and enabler of disruptive innovations in patient health, the future of medicine, taking care of our planet, and thermal comfort.  The event will conclude with tours of four premier area science facilities:  Artisan’s Asylum, Greentown Labs, MassRobotics, and MIT’s Center for Bits and Atoms.
