adi Automotive hits multi-million-pound landmark

A major engineering firm has strengthened its credentials in the automotive market after its sub-division reached £100 million in orders in just eight years of trading.

And the milestone, achieved by multi-disciplined company adi Group, has been secured through contracts with some of the biggest brands in the sector, including BMW / MINI.

The £100 million barrier was broken by the Birmingham-based adi Automotive Services arm of the business, which is the fastest-growing division in the group’s 30-year history.

Between its first and second year of trading, the division experienced growth of 188 per cent – and has gone on to secure permanent contracts at five major automotive sites across the country, including BMW’s MINI plant in Oxford.

“When the division launched eight years ago, it was designed with the intention of serving some of the biggest brands in the sector,” said adi Automotive MD Ritchie Webb.

“Not only can we look back and say that we hit that objective, but also that these brands will be integral to our future development as part of an ongoing relationship.

“We’re especially proud to have hit £100m in orders. Having experienced such rapid growth in such a short period of time, we’re hugely excited by our potential as we help meet the needs of automotive firms up and down the country.”

Brexit uncertainty notwithstanding, adi Automotive has continued to support innovative solutions around electric vehicle charging and production in the UK.

Just last month, the UK government unveiled plans to invest almost £40m in charging infrastructure, as electric vehicle adoption continues to rise among UK motorists.

“There’s still fantastic potential in British manufacturing,” adds Ritchie. “Many think with Brexit and the current economy that it has gone abroad, but with home grown brands like Jaguar Land Rover committing to electric models right here in the UK, it’s a false belief.

“We’re dedicated to helping support the development of electric vehicle growth with our high tech, precision installations.”

adi Automotive’s diverse service offering includes steel work fabrications, lean manufacturing, data networks and electrical installations, with over 100 staff operating in the division.

Serving blue chip companies and large auto manufacturers alike, the firm has continued to add new customers each year through its high-quality service and skilled engineers.

The adi Group typically completes in excess of 5,000 projects every year, with more than 30 specialist engineering divisions serving client sites across the UK and Republic of Ireland.
