3DPRINTUK Acquires Additive in Formal Merger

(15th February 2021. London, UK) It is with great pleasure that 3DPRINTUK, a leading service provider of polymer powder bed fusion (PBF) 3D printing processes for prototyping and manufacturing applications, can announce it has agreed terms to acquire Additive (formerly Digits2Widgets).

The acquisition further strengthens the position of 3DPRINTUK as a leading provider of industrial 3D printing services in the UK and beyond. It also builds further on the series of expansion efforts undertaken by 3DPRINTUK throughout 2020, the result of over £1 million investment in facilities, equipment and capacity, as well as new material offerings. Moreover, this will greatly expand the services and capacity available to the customers of both companies.

Commenting on the deal, Nick Allen, CEO at 3DPRINTUK says, “With both companies being located in London, Additive and 3DPRINTUK have long been friends in the industry. This has largely been driven by mutually high standards for quality 3D printed parts alongside a determined effort by both companies to maintain realistic expectations around the use of additive technologies. As a result, this feels like a very natural progression. I can categorically state that 3DPRINTUK will continue to strive to improve the already high standards of both companies.”

Andrew Dawood, owner of Additive says, “I am delighted to put our business in the safe hands of Nick Allen and his team, who I know will continue to develop and extend the role of additive manufacturing in the UK. We would like to thank all of our clients and suppliers over the years, and most of all the amazing team members who have made it all happen. From the 12th February 2021, all our 3D printing work will be performed by 3DPRINTUK.”

3DPRINTUK’s positive start to 2021 is set to continue through the rest of the year, with further announcements to follow in the coming months that will open up even greater opportunities for the company, and, more importantly, its customers.
