Advantech is going to expand its range of embedded systems with the new AMD Ryzen V2000 Series for its Mini-ITX and COM Express products. These innovative embedded products deliver superior performance by reliable hardware design and are set to further accelerate the revolution in Edge AIoT applications.
The AMD Ryzen Embedded V2000 Series employs a highly innovative new 7nm process technology. The ‘Zen 2’ cores and high-performance AMD Radeon™ graphics package deliver breakthrough performance combined with incredibly low power consumption. The new optimised architecture offers 15 percent improved performance in Instructions Per Clock (IPC), with a higher number of cores delivering up to 30 percent better single-thread CPU performance and up to 40 percent enhanced graphics performance when compared with the previous generation.
The new systems are ideally suited to markets such as retail, medical, automation and gaming, as well as embedded applications in Thin Client, MiniPC and Edge systems. The first samples of the upcoming products – the SOM-6872 (COM Express Module) and the AIMB-229 (mini iTX) – will be available at the beginning of 2021. Both feature an AMD Embedded Ryzen 7nm SoC with AMD V2000 APU and eight cores with 16 threads. TDP rating of 12~25W and 35~54W are available, using FP5 BGA footprint. Each system boasts a 7th Generation RADEON Graphics Core, with up to seven computing units running at 1.6GHz. Decode & Encode for H.265 are supplied as standard with 10b HEVC.
Four independent video streams use four independent display pipes. Dual channel memory offers up to 64GB.
The SOM-6872 includes up to three DDI ports; DP1.4/ HDCP 2.3; HDMI HDCP 1.4 & 2.3; LVDS 2-CH 18/24-bit; eDP1.3 and VGA.
The AIMB-229 comes with two DP++ (via USB-C connector); two HDMI 2.0; two LAN Ports; eight USB Ports; two M.2 Slots; 16-bit GPIO; six COM Ports, and TPM.
FurtherV2000 products are set to be launched by Advantech during 2021.
