Gaussian Mirrors

LASER COMPONENTS is one of just a few manufacturers worldwide that specialise in the production of Gaussian mirrors. Sometimes referred to as variable reflecting mirrors or VRMs, Gaussian mirrors are characterised by a degree of reflection that reduces radially from the centre of the optic with a Gaussian curve.

Gaussian mirrors are generally monochromatic, with the Gaussian profile only being valid for a single specified wavelength. 1064nm mirrors are available as standard, with other wavelengths being possible to manufacture upon request.

Gaussian mirrors are suitable for high power levels, and are generally used in unstable resonators, providing a high quality beam that exhibits a low divergence at high pulse energies.
