FPT INDUSTRIAL ENGINES ARE THE DRIVING FORCE BEHIND THE SUSTAINABLE AND SPECIALIZED TRACTORS OF THE YEAR 2020

Turin, November 12th, 2019

FPT Industrial, the CNH Industrial brand dedicated to the design, production and sale of
powertrains for on and off-road vehicles, marine and power generation applications, is cel-
ebrating the successful role that its high-quality engine technologies played in achieving
those two awards at the 2019 edition of Tractor of the Year (TOTY).

One of the highlights of this edition is in the category of Sustainable Tractor of the Year,
which recognizes the most innovative tractor in terms of sustainability, which consider as-
pects related to reduced pollutant emissions, safety, comfort, efficiency and connectivity. The
winner was the New Holland Methane Power tractor concept powered by the new FPT Indus-
trial N67 Natural Gas, which was competing against other finalist entries, including two pro-
totypes.

As part of FPT’s strategy to lead the introduction of alternative fuels in off-road applications,
the N67 NG has a displacement of 6.7 liters and a six cylinder in-line configuration, delivering
power of 180 kW at 1,800 rpm and torque of 1,035 Nm at 1,500 rpm. It is compatible with
Compressed Natural Gas (CNG), Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and biomethane, and has
10% lower CO2 emissions than Diesel engines in real field conditions. When running on
biomethane, this can reach virtually zero or even become negative.

In the same way, the winner of the Best Specialized category is powered by an FPT Indus-
trial engine. The New Holland T4.110 N is equipped with the ideal engine for specialty and
compact tractors, the F34. For this application, the 3.4-liter engine delivers power of 79 kW
(107 hp) at 2,300 rpm and maximum torque of 440 Nm at 1,500 rpm.

Such was the domination of FPT-powered entries at the 2020 awards that no less than eight
of the final nominations were driven by the Brand’s engine technologies, three in the running
for the principal TOTY award itself. FPT Industrial engines were also prominent in TOTY
award sub-categories, with two of the nominated multi-purpose tractors in the ‘Best Utility’
segment featuring FPT Industrial solutions, along with a further two in the ‘Best of
Specialized’ class for orchard, vineyard, hill and mountain tractors, and one in the
‘Sustainable TOTY’ category.

Launched in 1998 by Italian magazine ‘Trattori’, the prestigious annual TOTY awards rec-
ognize the latest innovations throughout the international tractor sector. This year, the jury
comprised 25 journalists from 24 countries, representing the most influential agricultural mag-
azines, websites, TV programs and social networks across Europe. The ceremony took
place on November 10th at the Agritechnica 2019 exhibition in Hannover, Germany.
