The new SIL-4 high-resolution image intensifier from Specialised Imaging can be synchronised to almost any high-speed camera or video system. An integral mechanical capping shutter is included to provide additional protection for the sensitive image intensifier.

Combined with a fast, high-sensitivity camera from Specialised Imaging that offers nanosecond-to-microsecond exposure control, high quantum efficiency, low read noise and wide dynamic range – Fusion researchers using the SIL-4 image intensifier can resolve weak optical, UV or X-ray emissions (using scintillator screen) with controllable gain to give images without saturation. This provides spatially and temporally accurate data for validating fusion plasma models and improving reactor performance.
