~ Motors, drives and new technologies demonstrated at ADIPEC ~
Global motor and drive manufacturer, WEG will exhibit at ADIPEC 2021, the world’s most influential exhibition for the oil and gas industry. Held from 15 to 18 November 2021 in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, ADIPEC will highlight the world’s latest technologies for the sector. Exhibiting from booth 11420, WEG will demonstrate its latest motors, gearboxes and variable speed drives (VSDs).
WEG will display its WG20 geared motors, the first geared motor to be completely developed in-house by WEG. The WG20 comprises helical, parallel shaft and helical bevel gear units with torques between 50 and 18,000 Nm. This range is light, robust and uses aluminium housing to ensure a lightweight and versatile product and is available for hazardous environments.
WEG will also highlight its W22X range of hazardous area motors at the show. All motors in this range meet the International Electrotechnical Commission IEC 60079 explosive atmosphere standards and are energy efficient to IE3 and IE4 European standards. The hazardous area range includes flameproof motors, dust ignition proof motors and increased safety motors – ideal for applications in oil, gas and petrochemical applications.
From its drive selection, WEG will demonstrate the CFW frequency inverter range. WEG frequency inverters, or VSDs, use cutting-edge technology for the speed variation of three-phase induction motors. These VSDs are intended for speed control in industrial applications and can be used to improve efficiency in oil, gas and petrochemical applications. Alongside this, WEG will exhibit its own VSD control panels.
“The Raz Markaz Crude Oil Park project is a great example of the solutions WEG can provide,” explained Marek Lukaszczyk, marketing manager at WEG Europe and Middle East. “WEG has supplied over 1,600 low voltage and 50 medium voltage motors for the project, along with VSDs and motor control centres for high voltage motors of up to 10,500kW. Located in Oman, the crude oil park covers an area of 1,253 hectares with a total capacity of 200 million barrels of crude oil on completion. WEG’s tube-cooled flameproof motors are a key technology for this project, which were developed by WEG’s high voltage solutions team in the Middle East.”
Alongside its motors, WEG will also show WEG Motor Scan, a remote and intelligent monitoring device for electric motors. The technology uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to diagnose, monitor and indicate predictive maintenance in electric motors.
WEG’s engineering experts from WEG Middle East will be available at booth 11420 to provide technical support and guidance at the show. Should you have a specific or bespoke requirement, please contact WEG Middle East in advance to arrange a meeting at ADIPEC 2021.
