State-of-the-art Advantech technologies on show at SIFER 2021 (stand # 1-600)

The 2021 SIFER international rail show at Lille Grand Palais Exhibition Centre from 26-28 October sees Advantech present an extensive range of state-of-the-art technologies developed specifically for the needs of the global rail sector.

With the theme ‘Intelligent transportation solutions for trains & subways’, the Advantech stand (Hall 1, stand 1-600) is showcasing innovations including the company’s ITA-5831 fanless box PC or ITA-5231W fanless 2U system with 5G are ideal solution for on-board connectivity, ITA-5231S fanless 2U system with high storage capacity is ideal for on-board surveillance/medial server, all of them are EN 50155 certified to support automatic train operations.

These are complemented by the company’s EKI-9528 series Ethernet switch which combines ruggedised design with high EMC performance and certified EN 50155 for rolling stock, and other railroad applications. This solution leverages M12 connectors for Ethernet, console, relay, and power input, ensuring excellent connectivity.

Stand visitors can also discover more about ITA-8100 fanless touch panel pc driver machine interface (DMI) for vehicle monitoring in rolling stock applications; and the ITA-7220 fanless Passenger Information System, EN 50155 certified specially for rolling stock applications, boasting a 22-inch stretched LCD panel, ensuring easy readability even in poorly lit environments. Powered by an Intel® Celeron™ J1900 processor with 4GB memory, it offers a reliable platform to provide passenger information on a wide variety of vehicles.

The Advantech EKI-7710G-2C/2CI Combo Managed Ethernet Switch supports eight Gigabit ports and two Gigabit combo port and features Advantech’s IXM function, allowing fast deployment for configuration and synchronization with associated cost savings. The EKI-7710G series also supports WebAccess/NMS (Network management software) to help IT managers with networking maintenance and failure prevention, and is equipped with an X-Ring redundancy protocol delivering recovery time of less than 20ms to ensure network stability.

Meanwhile, the EKI-2741FPI allows the transparently converting Ethernet signals to optic signals. In additionally supporting PoE (Power over Ethernet) to Ethernet-enabled devices using a standard CAT5 cable.

Finally, Advantech’s MIC-770 compact fanless system with AI functionality, coupled with BrainCreator’s specialist software, can deliver a best practice solution in passenger flow management.

Stéphane Blanc of Advantech commented: “As a company, our mission is to enable intelligent transportation systems, as part of a broader commitment to deliver smart cities. We continue to dedicate significant resources to designing and developing new technologies, working closely with software partners to co-create solution-ready packages for a broad spectrum of applications.

“It is fantastic to see SIFER back on the calendar and we look forward to meeting face-to-face with existing and prospective customers to discuss how we can support them and optimise their operations.”

Advantech’s ruggedised computer platforms are available in modular designs, with flexible configurations, redundant power supplies and compliance with all required safety standards, helping you build a more secure railway operating environment.
