During 2020, Georg UK took the opportunity to take a critical look at our integrated management system and processes, and also to review the environmental aspects of the machinery we manufacture.
Georg UK strives for high quality throughout our business from capturing a client’s requirements to enable machines to be designed and built to agreed specifications, managing change requests during projects, to final testing and installation.
As part of our review we revamped and upgraded our internal management system which covers areas such as quality, environmental and health & safety. Our equipment has been replaced or upgraded and we have invested in training and skills enhancement which we believe will allow us to provide an improved service and product delivery to all our clients. We are currently working towards achieving BS EN ISO 14001 covering day to day practices and machinery.
Georg UK also examined the environmental aspects of our manufacturing processes as well as the machines we build. We improved a number of areas including removal of solvents from our painting processes, strict controls of air and water emissions, removal of single use materials, large reductions in landfill waste and control and reduction in vehicle usage & CO2 emissions.
In terms of reducing the environmental impacts from our machinery, we offer clients greener, cleaner equipment:
- machines are 90% recyclable
- use of quality components which are longer-lasting
- machines are energy efficient
- regeneration solutions back to machine, line or building
- machines power off when not in use
- machines are built to last providing a longer life-time
Neil Wyke, managing director of Georg UK, explains: “The Georg Group always looks to the future and cares about environmental issues that are so important to all of us in today’s world. This is an ongoing and all-encompassing goal for the company which we hope will become a large feature of our services in future. As well as supplying new, efficient machinery we are also interested in modifying, adapting and upgrading existing plant and machinery for clients.”
As an essential business, Georg UK remained open during 2020 to support clients who also continued to operate. We have continued to work safely throughout assisting our clients with maintenance on existing machinery or providing design for future developments.
Neil added: “With lockdown restrictions starting to ease and the country moving out of lockdown, we are seeing businesses revisit ventures that were delayed by the pandemic. This is evidence by companies and institutions having the confidence in the economy to place orders with Georg UK for new and exciting projects.”
Georg UK is currently involved in the design, manufacture and build of equipment in all areas of the business such as special purpose Test Rigs and Coil Processing machines and are working in the rail, automotive and aerospace sectors.
