Industrial Washing Machines (IWM) has announced the launch of the SAN100F, a brand new fogging sanitiser ideal for use to sanitise shopping baskets; and with versions available for supermarket shopping trollies and roll cages. The SAN100F is extremely effective in applying chemical disinfectants or sanitising solutions to items such as shopping baskets and trolleys, which has now become an important requirement for combating the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
The new sanitisers help to kill pathogens and to prevent contamination from any potential transfer. The new IWM SAN100F is a versatile piece of equipment thanks to its high-pressure pump (60 Bar) and atomising jet nozzles. The nozzles spray a fine mist which produces a thin film coating of disinfectant on surfaces. The ‘fogging’ mode of operation mean that the SAN100F uses very little energy and considerably less water than other sanitisers available on the market.
In addition, the sanitiser can reach into corners and difficult areas and can also penetrate porous surfaces, all without the need for operator input. This enables supermarkets to deploy staff to more useful work, eliminating the need to use people to clean trolleys.
Sanitising through fogging can kill a wide range of pathogenic viruses within minutes, leaving surfaces clean and safe for human contact. A recent study by the Institute for Hygiene and Environmental Medicine in Germany concluded that human coronaviruses could remain infectious on surfaces for up to nine days but found that surface disinfection significantly reduces coronavirus infectivity on surfaces within a minute of exposure. Additionally, it is safe to use in pharmaceutical and medical environments, good inwards, as well as in food manufacturing, packaging and preparation areas.
