Award-winning toolmaker announces appointment of new Design Engineer Manager

Ad-Vance Engineering has announced the appointment of Rebecca Patterson MEng.

She joins the company’s team in Lisburn as their new Design Engineer Manager.

Patterson has a particular interest in plastic moulding simulation of insert moulding with hybrid laminate composites, along with knowledge of Moldflow software simulations for insert moulding and composite’s behaviour throughout the moulding process.

She will lead Ad-Vance Engineering‘s participation in the Interreg-funded Co-Innovate (strand 4) programme. Partnering with the Institute of Technology Sligo, the 12-month project will focus on developing more effective composite tool design and manufacturing processes.

Roger Vance, Managing Director, commented: “We are excited about securing the services of such a talented graduate. This is testament to Ad-Vance Engineering’s continual focus on developing our next generation of engineers and designers and promoting more female participation in our sector.

“Composite moulding has become an increasingly important element of our business success following recent announcements of Government funding for flagship R&D-led projects involving composite moulding. We are well-positioned to further exploit this market potential. Rebecca will be a key team member in helping us achieve this ambition.”
