Advance strengthens team with new appointment

Conveying and automated handling specialist, Advance Automated Systems, has strengthen their County Durham-based operation with the appointment of Dave King, who joins the company as a sales project engineer.

Formerly a machine shop manager, managing a team of 25 and being accountable for SQDC, OTIF and leading continuous improvement projects, King said of his new role: “Advance is a growing company and recognises the need for increased bespoke automated turnkey solutions for their customers. Being part of a business that can provide a full engineering solution from concept-design right through to Installation is what attracted me to the position.”

Operating from a 30,000 sq ft manufacturing site, Advance provides a fully integrated single source for the design, manufacture and installation of conveyors, conveyor systems and controls. Alongside existing business and the addition of new contracts acquired throughout the UK, the company expanded their operation earlier in the year by establishing a new office in Lutterworth, primarily to bolster product support during the design, installation and commissioning phases of projects in the central and southern parts of the country.

Commenting on the new role, Advance’s Bryn Roberts, said: “We are really pleased to welcome Dave to Advance. He join us at a very busy period of growth for the company and we look forward to him quickly becoming an important member of our team.”
