EPLAN Data Portal moves to the cloud

Leading CAE provider EPLAN has announced that as of July 6, 2020, its immensely popular Data Portal, which provides instant access to comprehensive component and device data for design engineers, will be extensively updated. The new version will be exclusively available in the EPLAN ePulse cloud environment, which users of EPLAN Platform Version 2.9 can access by registering at www.epulse.com.

Those using the latest version of the Data Portal will benefit from immediate online access to high-quality product catalogues from a continually growing pool of renowned component manufacturers. Electrical engineers and fluid design engineers can select the device data they require and transfer it directly into their EPLAN Projects, reducing the time needed for design engineering, minimising the risk of errors and ensuring the data used in documentation is uniform and standardised.

A completely new user interface with an intuitive search and smart suggestion function makes using the new Portal easier, faster and more convenient than ever. The enhanced search function offers fast and practical support, whilst the suggestion function (for product groups, components or manufacturers) is exceptionally easy to use as its “look and feel” is similar to that of popular search engines.

Another practical benefit of the new Data Portal is the inclusion of calculation programs such as Rittal Therm and selectors from Schneider Electric. These are tightly integrated with the relevant manufacturers’ data, which enables fast and convenient selection of the most suitable products for the task in hand.

Moving the EPLAN Data Portal into the EPLAN ePulse cloud environment brings a further important advantage: updates can be imported at any time – whether in the application itself or in the portfolio of data from more than three hundred component manufacturers. Between them, the manufacturers offer data on more than one million devices for direct download. This ensures that engineers who use the Portal can always be sure that they are working with the latest and most dependable data.
