Leica Geosystems, part of Hexagon, announced today APEX Engineering Services, a leading supplier of technical services to the construction industry worldwide, is the first customer in the UK to purchase the Leica BLK2GO handheld imaging scanner.APEX recently received its order of the new BLK2GO, enabling the firm’s surveyors to carry out a variety of existing and new tasks quicker and more efficiently. The BLK2GO has also opened new access routes to other markets through new sectors/projects, including the film industry, public safety and forensics.

The BLK2GO is a wireless handheld imaging laser scanner that seamlessly captures 3D environments while the user is in motion. The device continuously creates a digital representation of reality in the form of 3D point clouds. The BLK2GO’s compact and handheld design allows a much greater degree of mobility, as well as access to spaces and objects that may have been difficult or impossible to scan before.
