Energy saving products to exhibit at MACH 2020

Leading electrical and mechanical equipment manufacturer, WEG, will exhibit its   energy efficient motor and geared motor lines along with its extensive range of automation products, at MACH 2020 in Hall 7, booth 727. As the UK’s largest manufacturing show, MACH is held at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Birmingham from Monday April 20 to Saturday April 25, 2020.

At the show, WEG will exhibit the WG20 geared motor series, the first geared motor range to be entirely developed in-house at WEG. Comprising helical, parallel shaft and helical bevel gear units, with torque ranges between 50 and 18,000 Nm.

Manufactured with a light aluminium housing, the WG20 motor delivers high efficiency performance, without compromising on its sophisticated design. In fact, the cleverly designed aluminium housing of the WG20 motor enhances its energy efficiency. By improving heat conductivity, the housing encourages heat dissipation from the motors internal parts and prolongs its lifespan.

WEG will also exhibit the W22 three phase motor line. This range has been developed to provide high levels of performance while also delivering maximum energy efficiency with levels up to IE4.

The W22X hazardous area range for use in explosive atmospheres will be showcased at the stand, already meeting and in some cases exceeding the new Eco Design legislation for energy efficiencies which comes into place on 15th January 2021.

Also on show for the first time in the UK is the newly extended CFW500 variable speed drive with integrated safety functions of Safe Torque Off (STO) and Safe Stop 1 (SS1). When activated, the function stops unintentional starting of machines and prevents uncontrolled stops, improving safety for plant employees. In fact, the CFW500 with safety functions fulfil the requirements for SIL 3 / PL e, according to IEC 61800-5-2, EN ISO 13849-1, EN 62061, IEC 61508 and IEC 60204-1.

“Manufacturers are increasingly looking for ways to improve the energy efficiency of their facilities — and many machine builders will be seeking products to achieve this during their visit to MACH 2020,” explained Marek Lukaszczyk, European marketing manager at WEG. “WEG’s range of products ensures factories can achieve their ambitious efficiency goals, without compromising on the performance of their equipment or dramatically increasing costs.
