The AEMT has announced the remaining training days for its Ex Training course, designed for mechanical and electrical engineers that carry out repairs on motors, pumps, gearboxes and other equipment in hazardous areas. Modules are designed to ensure repairs comply to original certifications, as well as inform attendees on legal requirements, risk assessments as well as the health and safety aspects of Ex equipment.
Even if previously attended, the AEMT recommends its members undertake a refresher course every three years to ensure familiarity with the latest Ex equipment developments. The course is the basis of British and European BS EN 60079-19 and International IEC60079-19 standards for Ex equipment repair and overhaul.
Training courses are taking place in England and Scotland throughout the rest of 2019.

The Association of Electrical and Mechanical Trades (AEMT) was founded in 1945. It is an International Association representing leading companies in the electrical and mechanical service and repair industry. Proceeding the publication of AEMT’s and BEAMA’s jointly produced first code of practice for The Repair and Overhaul of Electrical Equipment for use in Potentially Explosive Atmospheres, which was adopted as the initial IEC 60079-19 international standard. The association has put together a selection of Training modules covering the Theory and Practical nature to ATEX and IECEx equipment repair. The modules are delivered as accredited training courses by expert teams across the globe.
