Expansion of the services division
Wuppertal, 30 October 2019. On 24 October 2019, K.A. Schmersal Holding GmbH & Co. KG, an international market leader in machine safety, took over omnicon engineering GmbH, based in Kirkel-Limbach in the in the federal state of Saarland (Germany). omnicon is a service-provider which advises medium-sized and DAX companies on safety-related issues and supports them on ensuring that machines comply with the EU rules on machine safety.
The engineering company, which has around 15 employees, will continue to be operated as a member of the Schmersal Group under its existing name. Founder Friedhelm Nowak will also stay on as the managing director of the company.

This allows us to offer greater proximity to our customers, especially those in the south-west of Germany, thus ensuring even shorter distances and faster response times.”
tec.nicum was founded on 1 January 2016 as the service division of the Schmersal Group and has been recording two to three-figure growth rates since then. tec.nicum consists of a global network of certified Functional Safety Engineers who advise machine manufacturers and operators on all questions of machine and occupational safety on a manufacturer-neutral basis. The tec.nicum experts also plan and implement complex safety solutions in close cooperation with customers all over the world. By founding tec.nicum, the Schmersal Group has further built on its position as a leading international system and solution provider for machine safety.
