Dyer & butler invests in welfare VEHICLE FLEET FOR highways, RAIL AND AIR-SIDE TEAMS

Dyer & Butler, a multi-disciplined engineering services specialist focused on essential infrastructure including airports, railways and highways, and part of M Group Services, has invested in ten Mercedes Sprinter welfare vans to support its operative teams.

The vehicles host a range of features designed to ensure the comfort and wellbeing of Dyer & Butler teams working on air, rail and road-side operations. The vehicles will provide access to office space, kitchen, toilet and washing amenities which include microwaves and a sink with hot and cold water. All of the vehicles are equipped with fully crash-tested seats, side windows, anti-slip floors, cabin and water heating systems and interior lights and dining tables/desks.

In addition to the welfare related specification, each vehicle is fitted with side entry door steps, rear steps, wide-angle reversing cameras, double-engage night silent reversing alarms, chapter 8 graphics and work lights. The vehicles are speed limited at 70 mph.

The addition of the vehicles to the Dyer & Butler fleet represents approximately £500,000 worth of investment in operatives’ on-site welfare.

Dyer & Butler Director of Safety, Sustainability & Training, Steve Broom, commented:The welfare of our teams delivering essential infrastructure services around the clock on highways, aviation or rail projects is of critical importance to our organisation. As a responsible business, we have a duty of care to provide exemplary welfare facilities and by raising the level of quality within our fleet operations in this way, it demonstrates our ongoing commitment to maintain levels of best practice in safety, efficiency, and working conditions for our people”.

“Well rested operatives provide a better, more efficient and safer service to our clients and our investment in this welfare vehicle fleet is a key part of ensuring that we maintain a high service level for our clients wherever and whenever our expertise is required.”

The vehicles were provided by M Group Services Plant & Fleet Solutions which supports all M Group Services businesses, providing commercially effective vehicles, plant and specialist equipment and ensuring that they are safe, compliant and fit for purpose throughout their operation.
