WEG INNOVATIONS IN THE SPOTLIGHT AT HI TECH & INDUSTRY SCANDINAVIA 2019

WEG, a world leader in the design and manufacture of motor and drive technologies, will be showing its latest innovations at the Hi Tech & Industry Scandinavia 2019 exhibition, which takes place in Herning, Denmark from 1 to 3 October. Located at Stand M9690, WEG will use Scandinavia’s largest technology and industry expo to shine a spotlight on a wide range of intelligent motors, drives and automation solutions, including a number of products making their first appearance in the region.

One such product will be WEG Motor Scan, a performance monitoring solution for electric motors that ensures high levels of operating excellence via predictive analysis. Developed for WEG motors on frame sizes from 63 to 450, after quick and easy sensor installation, WEG Motor Scan is configured through a smart device (app available for Android and iOS). Once paired, the sensor sends vibration and temperature data to the cloud via Bluetooth and enables results analysis on the WEG IoT platform.

Also making its Scandinavian debut will be the WEG range of WG20 geared motors, which are available in helical, parallel shaft and helical bevel variants. Helical gear units come in several housing sizes for nominal torques from 50 to 18,000 Nm, and are available in both foot and flange designs. With WG20 parallel shaft gear units, a robust structural design makes them ideal for conveyor application. All sizes can be fitted with either a hollow shaft, output shaft, mounting flange or shrink disc. Finally, for those requiring helical bevel geared units, visitors to the WEG stand will be able to enquire about a full range offering nominal torques from 110 to 18,000 Nm.

Further WEG products set to be showcased include the CFW range of variable speed drives (VSDs), which comprise everything from micro and mini drives, through system drives and HVAC-R drives, to OEM and general-purpose drives. At the show, WEG will feature a specially created electrical panel featuring a CFW11 VSD and other control gear components run by Pump Genius software. Pump Genius is a customisable feature of WEG drives that enables a standard VSD to become dedicated for pumping system applications. The software ensures accurate pressure and flow control throughout the processing cycle. With an easy-to-use programming wizard, Pump Genius helps users to minimise downtime and maximise energy savings.

For exhibition visitors seeking soft-starter solutions, look no further than the WEG SSW series. The range comprises a number of stand-alone soft starters, as well as a medium-voltage option for cabinets. By way of example, SSW07 and SSW08 soft starters are ideal for centrifugal pumps, fans and other applications that demand excellent overload capacity and cost benefits. The SSW900 soft starter offers fault history and diagnosis, troubleshooting with date and time, and network communication interface, streamlining productive processes.

Elsewhere on the stand, WEG will display a motor from its HGF line (large 500 frame). HGF motors stand out for their high performance and low maintenance costs, and are ideal for operation in a variety of applications that require high mechanical strength and durability.

Further motors at the exhibition will include the WEG W22 IE3 and IE4. These Premium (IE3) and Super Premium (IE4) cast-iron, general-purpose motors comply with the stipulations of IEC 60034-30-1 and are perfect for all those seeking superior efficiency levels and reduced energy consumption. The energy-efficient W22X flameproof variant, designed for hazardous area applications, will also be at the show.

The three-day exhibition, organised by MCH Exhibition Centre Herning, is focused on automation, tools, welding, production equipment, subcontracting and logistics. Some 20,000 visitors and 700 exhibitors are expected to participate. On the WEG stand, visitors will find a friendly team of experts who will be more than happy to discuss any current or future challenges relating to motor and drive applications.
