Delta, a global leader in power and thermal solutions, as well as a provider of open networking equipment, will present two new BNG platforms for CSP’s mission-critical applications in access networks, at the OCP Regional Summit 2019. The newly-launched AGCX422S spine switch boasts 22 100G QSFP28 ports and four 400G QSFP-DD ports. At the summit, it will also call for further participation among the OCP community.
“As a member of the OCP, Delta is dedicated to the community and works with members to accelerate developments in CSP, Cloud Service and Enterprise applications,” stated Jeff Chen, General Manager of Delta Networks Infrastructure Business Unit (DNIBU) at Delta.
The AGCX422S serves as a spine switch with 22 100G QSFP28 ports and four 400G QSFP-DD ports, while the AGCVA48S is ideally suited to lower speed connections from the access side with 48 25G SFP28 ports and 10 100G QSFP28 ports. In addition, multiple time injection interfaces are primed for different topologies and use cases. Development of the two platforms is a joint effort between Deutsche Telekom’s Access 4.0 team, and Delta’s networks infrastructure team.
Robert Soukup, Project Manager, Access 4.0, Deutsche Telekom, explained: “With partners like Delta in the ecosystem, jointly we share use-cases and platform design with the community, so that CSPs can leverage from it while also being encouraged to further participate in open networking movement.”
Winnie Lin, VP of Advanced Platforms at Delta’s DNIBU, stated: “Together with Deutsche Telekom’s Access 4.0 team, we feel proud and honored to present the AGCX422S and AGCVA48S to the community. We think it would be terrific if members from the community could leverage them to innovate in the future.”
Both the AGCX422S and AGCVA48S platforms are based on Broadcom’s Qumran 2C, a new addition to its DNX® Series. Users can expect 4GB on-chip buffer, connectivity to an external T-CAM for larger Table (IPv4/IPv6), ACLs, or, as an alternative, an external statistics device. The CPU module is flexible and supports both Intel’s Xeon D1548 and its new D1649 model.
“We are delighted to collaborate with Delta and bring these open BNG platforms to market. Based on Broadcom’s StrataDNX cutting-edge, access/edge product Qumran2c, these two new platforms are optimized in cost and capabilities for multiple CSP applications such as BNG, edge routing, peering and mobile backhaul. We believe the industry’s transition towards merchant-silicon based open solutions will be accelerated by leveraging Qumran2c’s industry-leading integration of HQoS traffic management, deep buffering and programmability,” said Guy Lange, product line manager of the Switching Products Division for Broadcom.
During the OCP Regional Summit, Delta will be located at #A4 on the ground floor. In addition to the two new BNG platforms, visitors will also see the recently accredited AGCV208S from Delta, which is based on Broadcom’s DNX® Qumran AX developed for access network such as Microwave. Moreover, the AGCV208S supports BroadPTP® and third party time synchronization modules, and it is available for both C-Temp and I-Temp models.
Currently, Delta Electronics is expanding its portfolio to provide higher bandwidth and richer features, ranging from 1GbE to 400GbE connectivity for CSP, Cloud Service and Enterprise customers. As a member of OCP, ONF and TIP, Delta actively participates in the community, and facilitates and encourages the development of open networking.
The OCP Regional Summit 2019 will be held between 26 and 27 September 2019 at RAI Amsterdam.
