Stuttgart, Germany, September 23, 2019 – Lee Smith takes the helm as Managing Director of Leadec’s United Kingdom (UK) business unit on October 1st. Lee is a highly experienced automotive executive, who has been able to build a successful career having worked for some renowned automotive suppliers. In this new role, he continues to advance his career at Leadec.
Lee Smith joined Leadec in 2017 as COO for the UK region, bringing over 20 years of experience with him from the automotive sector. He has spent the majority of his career in quality and project management, as well as engineering leadership roles; prior to joining Leadec, Lee was with ZF TRW LTD, where he was Plant Director in Poland (2016 – 2017), and Global Program Management Director (2015 – 2016) and European Program Management Director (2012 – 2015) in the UK. From 2004 – 2012, he worked with international automotive supplier, Faurecia, where as of 2008, he was Division Director, Interior Systems. Prior to that, Lee was Deputy General Manager (2006 – 2008) and Senior Program Director (2004 – 2006) at Faurecia’s office in Shanghai, China. From 1994 – 2004, he held several managerial positions at the international service provider Johnson Controls. Lee holds an MBA degree from University of Liverpool, UK.
Previously its own region, the UK business unit of Leadec is now part of the Leadec’s new Europe Division led by the newly appointed Henry Kohlstruck. This move integrates the strengths of Leadec in Europe.
