A UK specialist lifting software company is helping a leading Irish lifting equipment inspection firm to reduce the time it takes to issue critical certification from weeks to a matter of minutes.
Lancashire based CoreRFID, which specialises in the lifting and hoist sectors, has worked with Dublin based CraneCare Lifting Services Ltd to help transfer its inspections from a paper-based system to an online solution.
CraneCare is now using CoreRFID’s well-established CheckedOK solution, which enables inspectors to use a tablet to input data onsite. This is then used to automatically update a secure hosted database and the certification is immediately available for online viewing and download by CraneCare’s customers.
In addition to the inspection module, CraneCare has also implemented the breakdown and repair facility of CheckedOK. This ensures the immediate recording of labour and parts used to carry out a repair and the automatic generation of accurate invoices to make sure no revenue is lost.
CheckedOK has been tailored to CraneCare’s specific needs, including the layout of reports and sequence of the examinations.
Established in 1985, CraneCare provides industrial lifting gear and services. It also delivers statutory testing, inspection and certification programmes along with bespoke engineered solutions.
Sean McCaffrey, managing director, at CraneCare, comments: ‘Each on-site inspection carried out used to be recorded on paper by inspectors and was then sent through to the office where data was re-entered manually onto a spreadsheet, which was labour intensive and error prone. This caused delays in retrieving data and issuing certificates to the customers.
‘CheckedOK will give us greater accuracy, productivity and speed, helping us to enhance the reputation as an industry leader. We are hugely excited to see the benefits this new system will have for our company going forward.’
CoreRFID technical director Munzi Ali comments: ‘CheckedOK delivers greater operational speed and accuracy, which gives users a competitive advantage. Irish industry is very keen adopter of information technology solutions and we’re pleased to continue our long and productive association through our work with CraneCare.’
CoreRFID clients range from SMEs to multinationals such as GE Power, Hyster-Yale and ICL.
