Offenburg, Germany, 30. April 2019 – Parker Hannifin, the global leader in motion and control technologies, has introduced a new range of innovative Push-To-Fit solutions for press and joining applications. Combining a set of the company’s established and reliable core products including a controller, servo drive, motor and electro thrust cylinder connected together through software, Push-To-Fit is an energy efficient and cost-effective module. Aimed at general industrial assembly and in-plant automotive joining applications its modular construction allows fast and easy integration into customer processes.
Push-To-Fit is available with a choice of four different standard thrust forces of 9.3kN, 25.1kN, 56kN and 114kN, and defined standard travel lengths of between 100mm and 600mm – this makes it suitable for use in a wide range of applications. Repeatability of 0.03mm ensures precise joining and high travel speed up to 450mm/s give excellent throughput rates.
The hub of the solution is a process control unit that supports easy integration into existing plant networks and provides simple, convenient parametrization, visualization and operation. The monitoring methods used ensures that real-time quality control is guaranteed. The process control unit is fully compatible with, and prepared for, third-party device connectivity with dual LAN networks and options for Profinet, Ethernet IP and Modbus. Numerous operating options such as web visualisation, digital I/Os and communications interfaces (for example, OPC UA) are available to facilitate integration.
Push-To-Fit is supplied with Safe Torque Off (STO) as standard, this brings a drive safely to a no-torque state. In addition, advanced functional safety is available with a safety PLC. Acting as a Fail Safe over EtherCAT (FSoE) master the safety PLC uses the EtherCAT fieldbus to establish safe communication between the safe I/O modules and the drive. Separate wiring is not necessary. The first expansion stage includes Safe Limited Speed (SLS) and Safe Brake Control / Safe Brake Test (SBC/SBT) for the internal motor holding brake. The second comprises an additional external safety brake with SBC/SBT up to performance level PLe.
