EPLAN demonstrates integrated value chain solutions at virtual IndustryExpo

CAE expert EPLAN has announced that it will be sharing a stand with its sister company Rittal at the virtual IndustryExpo – the first fully virtual trade show. The stand, which is open to the public 365 days a year and can be accessed online, will demonstrate EPLAN & Rittal solutions, which optimise your production processes and efficiency potential, as well as featuring engaging functionality and innovative technical content.

One of the major challenges faced by engineers is to make sure that the data they use is accurate and up to date, therefore, Zone A will showcase the EPLAN Data Portal, a web-based solution built into the EPLAN Platform which provides online access to valuable device data from hundreds of component manufacturers. Electrical, mechanical, fluidic and pneumatic components can be dragged and dropped into EPLAN documentation, reducing project engineering time, achieving consistent cost savings as well as increased quality

In Zone B, visitors will enter EPLAN solution booths where the capabilities of EPLAN ePULSE will also be demonstrated. EPLAN ePULSE, the company’s newest solution offering, is the foundation for a complete network of cloud-based systems that bring together data and projects, disciplines and engineers around the world. Using their internet browsers, users access applications that enhance the existing EPLAN Platform product world with new functions along the data-driven value chain. The open design of EPLAN ePULSE supports future plans to extend availability to a variety of data formats and interfaces, including those used by other providers.

Zone C will contain Rittal enclosures and Zone D will feature a virtual ‘Rittal Innovation Centre’, where there will be a virtual display of a Rittal Perforex machining centre. The Perforex is a major advance for switchgear manufacturing which is designed to automate the creation of bore holes, cut-outs and threads in mounting plates, enclosure doors and side panels, using data generated from EPLAN Pro Panel.  Compared with traditional manual working methods, the combination of EPLAN Pro Panel and Rittal Perforex ensures delivery of vastly improved efficiency and productivity when manufacturing switchgear and control panels.

“EPLAN is at the forefront of web-based technology and we are pleased to be part of this cutting-edge trade fair which complements our ethos and our ambitions,” enthused Ken Christie, Country Director at EPLAN. “The virtual fair allows our visitors to witness first-hand the benefits of the EPLAN Data Portal and test the capabilities of the ePULSE family of products. We believe that our educational booths offer great value to visitors who wish to improve their design and manufacturing processes and to move toward adopting Industry 4.0 technologies.”
