The Metering and Monitoring Service Package (MMSP) is a scheme administered by OFGEM, an additional incentive offered by the UK Government following on from the RHI (Renewable Heat Incentive). Those who apply for the MMSP as part of a heat pump installation can receive additional financial support to pay for the provision and use of MMSP over a 7-year period.
The criteria for the MMSP is an OFGEM compliant energy meter along with a data-collection system to show the performance data of the heat pump, this is used to improve efficiency and aid the diagnosis of any problems that may arise.
DMS’s Sontex 440 and 449 SuperStatic Energy Meters are the only approved meters for use within this application. This is due to the Sontex SuperStatic 440 and 449 heat meters operating a unique and patented Static measurement principle which, unlike some ultrasonic technologies, operates independently of water impurities and has no influence from magnetite fouling, or reflection or misdirection of signals.
The Sontex SuperStatic 440 is available in sizes 15mm to 350mm and the Sontex SuperStatic 449 in sizes 15mm and 20mm, with multiple output options these meters also incorporate the OFGEM requirement of a 1 pulse per Wh output, and can operate within glycol based systems with up to a 70% concentration.
