Throughout December IET Venues will be exclusively gifting boxes of LEGO® for every site visit booked and attended during the month, to the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
IET London: Savoy Place and IET Birmingham: Austin Court will contribute the toys as part of their annual charity initiative, and for each site visit confirmed at either venue in London or Birmingham, a donation will be made in the new year.
The IET is committed to giving back and engineering a better world, and for the second year has chosen to independently gift LEGO® to the two local children’s charities. A visit to an IET Venue in December, whether to enquire about a last-minute Christmas party or getting ready for the year to come, will help build festive spirit.
LEGO® is the perfect gift to encourage youngsters to learn through play, and as the delivery partner in the UK and Ireland for the FIRST® LEGO® League, a global robotics-based life skills competition, the collaboration will benefit those in need at a difficult time of year for many families.
Sean Spencer, head of venues and facilities at IET Venues commented: “The IET are passionate about connecting young people and inspiring future generations to understand the exciting possibilities engineering and technology can offer. For each site visit booked in December we will donate £10 towards the purchase of a selection of LEGO® toys to be gifted to our chosen children’s charity, the Alexander Devine Children’s Hospice.
“December can be a difficult time of year for families with loved ones in hospital, so we hope the LEGO® gifts go a small way to brightening up their Christmas and make the young children’s time in hospital a bit more bearable. We really hope that our clients and visitors get into the spirit and help us donate lots of toys.”
