COPA-DATA returns to Liverpool on November 14 to 15 to exhibit at the annual Smart Factory Expo. As Europe’s biggest digital manufacturing show, the Smart Factory Expo explores the latest in industrial technology. COPA-DATA will demonstrate its smart factory software, zenon, from stand B25, in the shows Industrial Automation Zone.
The exhibition is set to double in size for 2018, welcoming 6,000 visitors, 200 exhibitors and hosting over 200 free to attend presentations from leaders in the industry. COPA-DATA UK’s regional manager, Lee Sullivan, will deliver a keynote speech in the Industrial Automation Solution Theatre at 11:30am on Wednesday 14 November.
IEC 62443 certification — what’s in it for you?
The presentation will examine IEC 62443 certification. The standard is a cyber security certification developed by the International Society of Automation (ISA), a non-profit professional organisation, and adopted by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC).
During the speech, COPA-DATA will explain how choosing vendors with this certification can help manufacturers to protect themselves against cyber security threats in the smart factory era. The presentation will centre around the various advantages that manufacturers can expect to gain by choosing vendors with this certification, in addition to better protecting their connected facility.
Demonstrating new releases
Earlier this year, COPA-DATA released the latest versions of its software; zenon 8.00 and the new zenon Analyzer 3.20. The software provides control and monitoring capabilities for smart factories in the automotive, food and beverage and pharmaceutical manufacturing industries, as well as other industrial facilities.
The new versions provide upgraded capabilities to the pre-existing zenon offering, which has existed as industrial software since COPA-DATA was founded in 1987. At the show, COPA-DATA will provide a live demonstration of its software, allowing visitors to view a graphical simulation of how zenon could visualise the data from their facility.
The company’s technical team, including the company’s managing director, Martyn Williams, will be present at the stand for the show. The team will provide knowledge and insight into the software, as well as answer any specific questions about how zenon could be deployed in specific sectors or applications.
“Software is a huge driver of the smart factory,” explained Martyn Williams, managing director of COPA-DATA UK. “However, investment in this area is often overlooked in favour of advanced hardware and sensors. That said, with the correct software in place, manufacturers can leverage their efforts for digital transformation by ensuring that the digitalisation process is yielding actual results for their business — evidence of which can only be found by actively collecting and analysing the facility’s data.
“COPA-DATA has long championed data acquisition as a vital method of boosting ROI in the smart factory, and our exhibition at the Smart Factory Expo will explain how to make this a reality. Visitors are welcomed to visit the team at stand B25 to ask for a demonstration of zenon.”
