Supplier of leading laser cutting and metal fabrication equipment, MBA Engineering, has won a competitive tender to provide a UK-based global leader in stainless steel with a pioneering, bespoke Kimla fibre laser system.
The new Kimla system – supplied by MBA Engineering – will replace two Bystronic CO2 laser cutting machines, streamlining the manufacturer’s laser cutting processes.
After utilising its CO2 lasers for more than 15 years, the stainless steel specialist identified a requirement to update its metal cutting function, in order to increase its production capabilities, reduce running costs and free-up valuable factory floor space.
Witnessing first-hand the superiority of the Kimla technology during a visit with MBA Engineering to the fibre laser manufacturer’s facility in Poland, the team was impressed not only by the precision of the machinery, but also the speed in which it operates.
The new six metre by two metre Kimla equipment comes complete with a bespoke automation system, with the client team being directly involved in the design of the machinery.
The fully automated nature of the Kimla equipment optimises the capabilities of the machine, meaning it can complete projects much more efficiently, from the loading and unloading of stainless steel pallets to the laser cutting itself.
Bradley McBain, managing director at MBA Engineering, said: “This client is one of the biggest names in stainless steel, so we’re immensely proud to provide the company with a precision, cost-effective fibre laser solution.
“The Kimla technology is truly pioneering and something we’re hugely passionate about. At MBA Engineering, we’re constantly looking to identify ways our customers can enhance the efficient running of their businesses. Replacing two competitor laser cutting systems with one, bespoke Kimla machine is a great example of how we can significantly improve a manufacturer’s production facility.”
Established in 2009, MBA Engineering is the exclusive distributor of Kimla fibre laser cutting equipment in the UK.
