New Head of Sales for one of the West Midlands oldest home builders

Kendrick Homes’ new Head of Sales has started 2025 with a flurry of new sales and is expecting a strong year for the developer after it launched several new developments.

Kirsty Darby, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the property sector, is setting her sights on increasing the Black Country firm’s revenues over the next twelve months with several high-profile schemes progressing well and new sites in Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Gloucestershire ready to hit the market.

She has considerable experience of the sector and strong personal management and mentoring strengths and will use these attributes to lead from the front when it comes to sales and marketing and branding.

“This is an exciting time to be joining Kendrick Homes, one of the UK’s oldest house builders with a great reputation for delivering high quality properties and communities,” explained Kirsty.

“The family-run feel of the business really attracted me to the role and the fact I can help shape the business in its sixth generation of ownership. We can make decisions quickly and our pipeline of new land has a lot of exciting new schemes in much sought-after areas.”

She went on to add: “I’m also extremely passionate about ‘women in construction’ and want to use my senior leadership position to get more females interested in working in our sector and with our business.”

Megan Rea is one Kendrick Homes employee who is already heeding this message by swapping beauty therapy for a rapidly accelerating career in construction.

She impressed bosses with her attitude and skills as a labourer and was invited to become a trainee site manager, an opportunity that she took with both hands.

“My family works in construction so I’ve always gravitated to building sites – but I never thought I could be heading towards being a Site Manager by the age of 25,” explained Megan.

“I’ve just finished my first site, working at Welford on Avon, helping to build 24 amazing homes. I was given a plot to complete on my own and write my own programme around it and this has really helped in my development.

“My job is great, and I love being able to build homes for customers. There is nothing better than building a house from the ground up and seeing a family move in!”

She concluded: “I’m really happy as a Trainee Site Manager and I’m focused on the next three steps of my college course, which will see me qualify in Level 4 site supervisory. Then it’s all steam ahead for the Site Manager position.

“Kendrick Homes has been very supportive throughout, helping with the external training and in giving me access to lots of experienced team members to learn from. It is definitely a major supporter of women in construction.”
