Vicor to present at Battery Thermal Management Innovation Summit event in Stuttgart

High density power modules minimize size, weight and optimize EV high voltage conversion

London, UK – 16 April 2024 – Vicor, the high-performance power module company, will share new innovations in power system design that enable high efficiency, high voltage conversion and new paths to reducing the complexity and mass of the battery and power conversion systems. Power dense modules deliver an unprecedented level of flexibility and scalability that enable creative solutions to many electrification challenges.

Greg Green, Director of Automotive Marketing will present, “Enhancing Converter Power Density and Flexibility with High Power Density Modular Power Conversion Devices,” at the 2024 Battery Thermal Management Innovation Summit—in Stuttgart, Germany on April 24th.

Green’s session addresses the problem of excessive BEV weight, which limits range and exacerbates charging concerns.  Reducing the weight of the thermal management system for the battery and power distribution system can reduce mass and reverse its negative consequences.  Using the highest high density power modules for DC-DC conversion allows DC-DC converters to be downsized and incorporated into the battery case, for weight and package improvements.  This technology also supports the implementation of the 48V zonal architecture, which reduces the thermal load for the battery cooling system and drives other cost and weight savings at the vehicle level.

Greg Green, Director of Automotive Marketing will deliver on the benefits of using power modules to imporve themal and reduce system size and weight at 2024 Battery Thermal Management Innovation Summit in Stuttgart.
