Automotive manufacturers urged to take bolder approach to quality

Automotive manufacturers will be urged to take a bolder approach to how they measure, structure and improve quality, at this year’s HxGN Local Power of Smart Change conference. The event, which takes place at the Manufacturing Technology Centre in Coventry, aims to demonstrate the importance of high performance metrology applications in enabling greater OEM collaboration.

Speaking at the event is Sally Povolotsky of KW Heritage, a sister company to KW Special Projects. Sally has achieved major success in “special projects” during her time at Jaguar Land Rover, including being the concept and project lead on the E-type Jaguar Concept Zero recently seen at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Royal Wedding. Sally also sits on the Silverstone Technology Cluster ACES committee, promoting autonomous and electrified solutions to the wider membership and beyond.

Sally has a proven track record of helping tier one suppliers collaborate closely with OEMs, through an embedded approach of embracing change and new technologies. She recently joined KW Heritage with a background in bespoke and classic vehicles and will be helping the business deliver a digital manufacturing service to re-imagine classic vehicles.

Sally commented: “Automotive production is continually aligning with the processes of Industry 4.0 (4IR), and there is a key role for measurement technology in processing lines and robotic applications in nearly every production area. As such, demand for increased safety, stability and quality requires a bolder approach to metrology.

“I’m looking forward to sharing my insight on 4IR with the wider sector and debating the subject of Dinosaurs v Disruptors and who will win the race of technology uptake in the fast-paced industries of motorsport and automotive at large.

“Over the coming months, we will continue to drive KW Heritage’s unique position, providing cutting-edge technologies for clients nationwide, and launching innovative engineering turnkey solutions for the contemporary and classic car owner.”

Povolotsky’s talk is scheduled for 10:15am on 23rd May, more information about the event, along with details on how to register, can be found here:https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/high-performance-metrology-event-tickets-44014584808
