Dearman will collaborate with Paneltex, one of Britain’s leading commercial vehicle bodybuilders, to demonstrate the high performance, zero-emission transport refrigeration unit that has been developed in a collaboration between the two companies.
The Dearman system will be found on a Paneltex semi-trailer on the Paneltex stand 3A110 at the forthcoming Commercial Vehicle Show 2018, which will be held 24-26 April at the NEC Birmingham.
The theme of the Paneltex stand at this year’s show is focusing on home delivery and urban transport. Utilising the ground-breaking liquid nitrogen-powered Dearman Engine, the system offers industry-leading performance, is zero-emission and quiet to operate, while being cost competitive.
A transport refrigeration unit (TRU) powered by a secondary diesel engine can emit up to six times as much nitrogen oxide (NOx) and almost 30 times as much particulate matter (PM) as a Euro 6 heavy goods vehicle engine. However, the Dearman TRU eliminates all emissions of NOx and PM, providing a significant improvement in air quality, while also reducing carbon footprint and noise.
Government and local authorities increasingly recognise the role of fleet operators in tackling air pollution. Further to a declining climate for diesel, Chancellor Philip Hammond’s recent Spring Statement also announced a review of the use of cheaper red diesel to power conventional diesel TRUs.
Dearman’s innovative zero emission TRU means the company is well-placed to help other businesses eliminate their NOx and PM emissions.
Commenting, Dearman senior director David Rivington, said:
“Dearman is looking forward to exhibiting our groundbreaking TRU on the Paneltex stand at the CV Show. 21,000 visitors attended last year’s CV Show and this is a major opportunity for us to show local authorities and fleet operators how we can help them cut their emissions, especially with the increasing need to tackle air pollution.
“Clean systems must deliver performance, be cost effective and zero emission. That is exactly what the Dearman transport refrigeration unit delivers and we look forward to showcasing this with Paneltex at Britain’s biggest road transport event.”
Sam Berridge, European Sales Manager at Paneltex, added:
“Paneltex looks forward to displaying the Dearman refrigerated trailer on Stand 3A110 at the CV Show. Our bodybuilding expertise together with Dearman’s innovative refrigeration technology makes for an exciting collaboration charting the future of clean, chilled delivery. Home delivery and urban transport is the theme of Paneltex’s stand at the CV Show 2018. With the need to tackle air pollution and hence an increasing demand for cleaner ways to transport food produce, the collaboration between Paneltex and Dearman proposes a cost effective and efficient solution.”
